What’s new in v2.1.0
Every CTA button URL can now automatically include a referral parameter, in either mode:
1) Site-wide (per client)
- One fixed referral value gets appended to every CTA link on that site.
- Perfect for hosted clients where the site itself should always credit one affiliate.
2) Per logged-in member
- If a member is logged in, the CTA link auto-includes their referral value.
- You can choose what the referral value comes from:
- User login
- User ID
- A user meta key (e.g.
tcge_ref)
Fallback option
If “Per member” is enabled but nobody is logged in, you can optionally fall back to the site-wide referral value.
Where to configure it
WP Admin → TraffiCola™ → CTA Engine → Referral Injection
Settings you’ll see:
- Referral mode: Off / Site-wide / Per logged-in member
- Referral parameter: default
ref(change to whatever your system expects) - Site-wide referral value
- Per member source: login / id / meta
- User meta key (if using meta)
- Fallback to site-wide ref (checkbox)
Notes for your exact use case
If your registration system expects Affiliate ID: X, set:
- Referral parameter =
ref(or whatever your system uses) - Site-wide referral value =
X - Or use “Per logged-in member” and store each member’s affiliate ID in user meta (e.g.
tcge_ref)
